A step on from the XJD balance bike: a girls bike with a basket, ribbons and a real handbrake, in 12, 14 and 16 inch sizes.
On the driveway
Pick by height, not age: the 12 inch fits 32 to 38 inches tall, the 14 inch 35 to 43, the 16 inch 40 to 51. The Hi-Ten steel frame and fork take the bumps of learning, and the rubber tyres have an off-road tread that grips a gravel path. A full chain guard keeps trouser legs and fingers away from the teeth.
Out of the carton
It arrives 85 percent assembled with the tools and a clear manual; the training wheels, pedals and basket go on in one sitting. Single speed, small grips sized for a small hand, and removable stabilisers for the day she is ready to go without them.

Nicole Snodgrass October 11, 2026Super adorable bike that I got for my 5 year old granddaughter, which she loves! Only issue I had was putting it together. Didn’t come with instructions so I had to go off of picture, it had me in fumes lol but I got it and she loves it which is what matters!
Where it sits beside the XJD balance bike
Children who learned on an XJD balance bike skip most of the wobbly stage here, because they already ride with their eyes up. The seat is comfortable, the grips non-slip, and the wheels run smooth on a path. Assembly is mostly done; the remaining installation needs only the tools in the box. A safe, sturdy gift.
