The flower-pink colourway of our girls bike, a 12 inch frame for the child who has just stepped off an XJD balance bike.
On the driveway
On this 12 inch size the rider should be roughly 32 to 38 inches tall, usually between three and six. The flower print runs down the frame, the basket sits up front for a doll or a snack, and the streamers move as soon as she does. Off-road tread rubber tyres give confident grip on a park path.
Out of the carton
The steel frame comes most of the way built; you fit the stabilisers, pedals and seat with the tools in the carton. The handbrake is sized for a short reach. When the stabilisers come off, keep them in the box — a younger sibling will want them.
Three things we would point out

Where it sits beside the XJD balance bike
A rider coming off an XJD balance bike already knows the feel of a soft, supportive seat and steering by balance; the flower pink frame adds pedals and a brake. It is sturdy, assembles within an evening with the supplied tools, and feels like a proper big-girl bike. Most of these are a birthday gift.
