Our newest XJD toddler helmet, with three shells from XS to Medium and a dial at the back — the one we would pair with a balance bike for a two year old.
On the driveway
XS fits 17.5 to 19.5 inches, S 18.9 to 21.3, M 21.6 to 22.8, so a family can hand the helmet across siblings rather than buy three. The vent layout is deliberately modest: enough airflow for a summer afternoon without the open look that worries some parents. It works for trikes, scooters, skates and the first proper bike.
Out of the carton
An ABS outer skin over a shock-absorbing EPS liner, a padded fabric-and-sponge lining, a rear dial and adjustable chin straps. It arrives ready to wear. Eleven colourways are listed; check the stock badge, because the newest shells come in ahead of the full range.
Three things we would point out
- XS, S and M shells for heads 17.5–22.8 inches
- Rear dial plus adjustable chin strap
- Soft sponge lining under an ABS and EPS shell

Mecca Ali June 26, 2025I love it…it’s a little big on my grandson but he won’t actually be riding a bike, just strolling on one until he sees fit otherwise. My grandson is a ONE year old. I selected it because it indicated the age group he’s in. In this photo, he’s preparing to put his new bike together, but first, he’s canvassing the instructions❣️

Chris Crabtree December 27, 2023Got this helmet for my kiddo, and it's been a bit of a disappointment. First off, the fit is wonky – either too tight or too loose, no in-between. It's like playing Goldilocks with headgear. Ventilation is a joke. After a short ride, my kid looks like they just took a dip in the neighborhood pool. Not cool. Safety is non-negotiable, but this helmet makes me want to look for something that doesn't feel like a puzzle every time we use it.
Next to the XJD balance bike
A two year old on an XJD balance bike sits on a low, soft PU seat with non-slip grips; this helmet finishes that safe design at head height. No installation, no tools, a dial that feels smooth to turn. If the bike is the birthday gift, this is the one we would wrap with it.
